The golden trumpet trees at Guangxiao Temple are in splendid bloom

Spring in the city of Guangzhou is marked by flowers blossoming everywhere. Recently, the golden trumpet trees within Guangxiao Temple have burst into magnificent bloom, creating a stunning contrast with the classical architecture. The unique charm of the vibrant yellow flowers against the ancient buildings has attracted many locals. Guangxiao Temple is the premier ancient Buddhist temple in the Lingnan region and a millennium-old Zen ancestral court. Reporters arrived today to see many citizens and tourists coming to admire and photograph the flowers, enjoying the leisure of a spring day beneath the trees. Guangxiao Temple still preserves many historical cultural relics and monuments, such as: the Mahavira Hall built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Ear-washing Fountain opened by Bodhidharma from the Southern Dynasties, the stupa of the Sixth Patriarch Huineng from the Tang Dynasty, the Dharani Sutra Stone Bell of Esoteric Buddhism, the Thousand Buddha Iron Pagoda cast during the Southern Han Dynasty, the Garan Hall and the Sixth Patriarch Hall constructed in the Song Dynasty, as well as steles, Buddha statues, and the Bodhi tree. The temple's grandeur and the elegant solemnity of its halls and pavilions truly make it a treasure of Chinese architectural art.
