The Sanxingdui Museum was founded in August 1992 and opened in October 1997. It is located about 40 kilometers from downtown Chengdu and is a modern specialized site museum in China. Sanxingdui got its name from the Qing Dynasty's Jiaqing period's 'Han Zhou Zhi,' which states, 'Guanghan is a famous area, Luocheng is an old territory... its east has gushing springs, and its west accompanies the three stars of the moon.' Among the vast sea of bronze artifacts in the world, the Sanxingdui bronzes are one of the most mysterious and valuable groups of artifacts, and they are considered an outstanding representative of bronze civilization. Moreover, the museum's use of lighting is particularly excellent. The light, shadow, projection, and texture make the artifacts seem to tell a story as they stand quietly. Among them, Heaven, Earth, Man, and Gods is my favorite exhibition area. Through unique bronze artifacts and jade shapes, it takes humans and gods as the main line, reflecting the ancient Shu culture's characteristics of animism, human-god communication, and the unity of heaven and man. You must visit it in person to feel it. Sanxingdui definitely has sacrificial pits, but the ones currently excavated are not sacrificial pits but burial pits. After all, who would break their faith and then neatly arrange it? Sanxingdui does not have mature writing like oracle bone script, but that does not mean there are no symbols or pictographs. The Sanxingdui bronzes were smashed and burned because they had to be smashed. They were neatly arranged because they wanted to keep them but couldn't. Everything has a reason. We can overestimate the imagination and creativity of the Sanxingdui people, but we should not underestimate the current achievements of human civilization and doubt the basic logic of historical development. The Sanxingdui people were not deliberately creating a sense of mystery for future generations. They did what they could at that time.
