Sharing a fun and easy Tangshan parent-child travel itinerary 🌟Day 1: Hetou Old Street Divided into three parts: watch, stroll, and play. 1️⃣ Watch the show — "Tang King’s Eastern Expedition" Intangible Cultural Heritage Iron Flower Performance "Iron Flower" is China’s "oldest fireworks," The "Tang King’s Eastern Expedition" Iron Flower show is a must-see performance at Hetou Old Street, truly breathtaking with a grand atmosphere. 📖 Legend It is said that when Tang King Li Shimin campaigned eastward against Goguryeo, he stationed troops in the Tangshan area, which is how Tangshan got its name. The show is set against Tangshan’s history, combining horsemanship, acrobatics, iron flower, fire pots, knife horse dan (female warrior role), and more than a dozen acts, recreating the grand scene of the Tang King’s troop stationing and the soldiers’ determination to defend the border. Duration: about 30 minutes Ticket price: Monday to Friday: 38 RMB/person Saturday and Sunday: 58 RMB/person Location: southernmost part of the park Seating: no seats, standing only, arrive at least 40 minutes early for a good spot. There is a warm-up performance, so you won’t wait idly. Besides this must-see main show, Hetou Old Street has hundreds of other performances, just watch if you pass by and like them, kids especially love the "Miss Bu Dao Weng" show at Shengshi Wharf. 2️⃣ Stroll — Tang Dynasty Market, Water Market The market is lively with NPC interactions, a hundred-meter lantern street, beautifully lit at night! Wearing Hanfu for photos feels like time travel, rent a set for your child and instantly turn them into a Tang Dynasty princess. ⚠️ Park opening hours: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM If you want to dress up, it’s best to enter right when the park opens at 2 PM. ⚠️ Crowded, expect queues for NPC interactions. 3️⃣ Play — Amusement activities Boat rides, Ferris wheel, zip line, Leap over Hebei, and more. 🌟Day 2: Qixin 1889 History Formerly China’s first national cement company — Qixin Cement Factory, where China’s first bucket of cement was produced, spanning three centuries and witnessing the vicissitudes of China’s modern industry. Later transformed into a cultural and creative park. Professor Meng Man has a short video introducing this place, it’s highly recommended to watch it before you go. Understanding the history helps you better appreciate the site. ⚠️ Tips The industrial style is perfect for photo ops, especially the buildings and tower with the words "Tangshan." There’s also a train and several children’s play facilities, color stacking toys that kids especially love. Day 2: Tangshan Banquet · A Museum for Eating and Playing ✅ Floor guide: 1F: Snack street (with performances) 2F: Folk custom immersive exhibition (watch shadow puppet making, etc.) 3F: Banquet restaurant (reservation required) ⚠️ Too crowded, which really affects the experience, so just take a quick look and leave. Day 2: Tangshan Earthquake Site Memorial Park Indoor exhibition hall not yet open, Outdoor site: earthquake ruins and more. A must-visit for families with elderly members, not recommended for families with only young children; better to visit when kids are older.
