🌟Manisan has a unique charm. It is the 139th mountain fortress in history, built in the 20th year of King Sukjong (1694) to resist sea bandits and protect Ganghwa Island. There used to be a north gate, west gate, and south gate. Although the north gate, west gate, and south gate were burned down during the Byeongin Yangyo (1866), the north gate was restored in 1995, and the south gate was restored in 2002. The total length of the mountain fortress is 6 km, and the unrecovered part is still 4 km long.
