‘Won-gak-sa’, a great place to visit in the city center

According to the Wonkaksa Historic Site Monument recorded in 1984 regarding the temple's founding and history, in 1927 during the Japanese colonial period, Japanese monk Aoki Taro founded a small temple in the lineage of the Japanese Tohonwonsa Temple, and its name at the time of its founding was Jinjosa. In August 1945, immediately after liberation, the current chief priest, Chunmyung Changseok, took over Jinjosa and changed its name to Wonkaksa.
