The first stop of the graduation trip: Hulunbuir

Quietly saved money with my bestie and took a trip to Hulunbuir, and it was so impactful😭 In 6 days, we explored the grasslands, forests, a Russian-style town, and even got close to reindeer🦌! Sharing our itinerary + tips to avoid pitfalls, sisters planning to visit Hulunbuir can refer to this. Wishing everyone a pleasant journey. 📝 Itinerary D1: From all over the country — Hailar (gathering) ▪️ Arrived in Hailar at night and headed straight to "Nomin Tara Milk Tea House" to try pot tea + Buryat buns. The salty milk tea paired with fried rice is amazing. ▪️ Visited the ancient city night market and bought a Mongolian hat (bargained down to 30 RMB, perfect for photos). ▪️ The hotel in Hailar was quite clean, but the soundproofing was average, so earplugs are recommended. . D2: Hailar → Morigele River → Oroqen Reindeer Tribe → Genhe ▪️ Morigele River looks like a silver ribbon on the grassland, drone shots are stunning (the guide even took group photos for us). ▪️ Oroqen Reindeer Tribe! Bought moss for 20 RMB to feed the deer, the reindeer are very gentle and will nuzzle your palm~ ▪️ Genhe is the cold pole of China; even summer nights are only 15°C, remember to bring a jacket. . D3: Genhe → Crossing the Greater Khingan Mountains → Moerdaoga Forest Train → Shiwei ▪️ Took an off-road vehicle through the primeval forest, the driver played Mongolian music, creating a great atmosphere. ▪️ The Moerdaoga forest train is like a fairy tale, you can get off at any of the four stops. We went crazy taking photos at the "Linxi Waterside" stop📸. ▪️ Stayed at Shiwei in a wooden Russian-style cabin, opening the window to the border river, with a Russian village opposite. . D4: Shiwei → Kaxian → Horse Riding at Heishantou → Bonfire Party ▪️ The Kaxian highway is amazing! One side is grassland, the other is wetland, breathe in the fresh air deeply. ▪️ Chose the sunset horse riding session at Heishantou (18:00-19:30). The horse team took us uphill to watch the sunset, golden light spread over the grassland, so beautiful it made us cry. ▪️ Stayed in a Mongolian yurt at night and joined a bonfire party, dancing Mongolian dances with strangers was super fun. . D5: Heishantou → 186 Ribbon River → Barhu Folk Park → Manzhouli ▪️ Sliding down the grass for 1 km at Ribbon River was thrilling! Super fast speed, screamed the whole way (ticket included in the group fee, buying separately costs 100 RMB). ▪️ Watched the "Dance of the Horse" performance at the Barhu tribe, Mongolian guys riding horses doing handstands and human pyramids, jaw-dropping. ▪️ Manzhouli’s night view looks like a fairy tale world. Had Russian food at "Lubri Western Restaurant," the cheese buns were intoxicating. . D6: Manzhouli → Hulun Lake Horse Tethering Post → Hailar ▪️ The horse tethering post at Hulun Lake is a lesser-known spot, the lake water is as blue as the sea, with prayer flags tied to huge rocks, very impressive. ▪️ On the way back, the driver took us to pick wild chive flowers, which smell like perfume. Locals dip them in mutton to eat. . ⚠️ Tips to avoid pitfalls 1️⃣ Clothing guide: The grassland is scorching during the day and freezing cold at night, bring sun-protective clothing + a thin down jacket. 2️⃣ Horse riding precautions: Wear pants and gloves to prevent chafing. 3️⃣ Bargaining essentials: Bargain hard for nesting dolls in Manzhouli! Don’t buy beef jerky in scenic spots, and avoid very cheap fakes. 4️⃣ Toilet warning: Many dry toilets on the grassland, bring wet wipes and masks (those who know, know). .
