Keketuohai at sunset, where golden grasslands meet deep blue lakes

📍Address: Keketuohai Scenic Area is located in Keketuohai Town, Fuyun County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The scenic area is divided into a mining area and a lake area. 🚗Transportation: The self-driving route from Urumqi is about 500 km, taking 7–8 hours. Urumqi → G216 National Highway → Fuyun County → Keketuohai Town. We drove there, but there are buses from Urumqi to Fuyun County at the Tourist Distribution Center. 👍️Must-see attractions: [One] No. 3 Mine: One of the most representative mines in Keketuohai, and one of the largest granite mines in the world. It is 200 m deep and about 400 m wide. It made a great contribution to the country's construction and is now part of the Geological Museum, showcasing rich mineral resources and the development of the mining industry. [Two] Keketuohai Town: The town has a long history and was once home to Soviet experts and technical workers. It is full of exotic customs, where you can taste authentic Xinjiang cuisine and buy unique handicrafts. [Three] Kekesuli: Also known as Wild Duck Lake, it is a naturally formed marsh wetland with clear blue water and rich aquatic plants and animals. There are large areas of reeds in the lake, and many wild ducks and other water birds inhabit and forage here every spring and autumn. [Four] Keketuohai: A beautiful lake, especially at sunset. The lake is as calm as a mirror, and the sunlight shines on the lake, making it golden. 🎟️Tickets: Peak season (May 1 to October 31): CNY 90 per adult. Off-season (November 1 to April 30): CNY 70 per adult. Shuttle bus: CNY 50 per person. 💗Other tips: Most self-driving travelers choose Altay Kanas as their first stop after leaving Urumqi, so many people overlook Keketuohai. Overall, Keketuohai is beautiful, but the tickets are too expensive. It could be developed better before charging.
