The serene and beautiful Kizuhiko Shrine!

Devotees of Shintoism consider it an important shrine for worship. The historic Kizuhiko Shrine is the main venue for the grand Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival held every July in Kyushu. During this time, many visitors come to witness the most exciting event of the festival, the 'chasing Yamakasa,' where 26 people carry the decorated Yamakasa floats and dash through the streets, creating a lively and spectacular scene. You can admire the colorful Yamakasa that are usually only displayed during the Gion festival within the shrine, as well as the ancient ginkgo tree symbolizing Kizuhiko Shrine, which has a history of a thousand years. Both the scenery and the customs are very nice.
