Qiandeng Lake Scenic Area

Qiandeng Lake, located on Denghu West Road, Guicheng Street, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, covers an area of about 302 acres, with the lake surface accounting for about 132 acres (88,000 square meters). The shoreline is approximately 2.2 kilometers long, with an average water depth along the shore of 0.8—1.2 meters, and the deepest point in the center reaching 2.8 meters. It is an entirely open-style park. In August 2001, Qiandeng Lake was completed and put into use. It consists of an artificial lake, a large shelter, a historical observation tower, a water teahouse, a cypress tea shop, streams, a landscape tower on the mountain, the South Water Gate, the 21st Century Island, the Phoenix Pavilion, the Phoenix Corridor, and a flower maze. Qiandeng Lake has been rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. On October 8, 2015, Qiandeng Lake Park won the 'Oscar' of the global landscape design industry—the Global Urban Open Space Award in San Francisco, USA, becoming the first project in China to receive this award.
