🇳🇴 Picturesque Mountain Railway & Bike Trip in Norway

If I had to pick the most emotional day of my trip to Norway, I'd say, without hesitation, the cogwheel train and bike ride from Flåm to Myrdal. There's only one reason I highly recommend it! This journey is all about the journey itself. 🌿 --- 📍Flåm ↔ Myrdal 🇳🇴 Flåm-Myrdal Cog Railway + Bike Descent Course Cog Railway Duration: Approximately 1 hour Bicycle Descent Distance: Approximately 20 km Descent Time: Approximately 2-3.5 hours (including stops) Operating Season: June - September Recommended Travel Method: Flåm → Cog Railway → Myrdal → Bike Descent from Flåm --- 🚆 A Classic Cog Railway with 80 Years of Tradition The cog railway, connecting Flåm and Myrdal for approximately 20 km, has been a landmark for 80 years since it opened in 1939. The section features 20 tunnels and 1 bridge. A magnificent natural panorama of cliffs, waterfalls, and gorges. All seats on the train are non-reserved! Seating is first-come, first-served, so board early. The view from both sides is breathtaking, so you'll be 100% satisfied no matter where you sit. 📸 A surprise event awaits you at the midway stop, "Kjosfossen"! -- 👻 The legendary fairy "Huldra" appears! A majestic piece of music suddenly emanates from Kjosfossen... And a blonde fairy emerges from the mist 👩🦰✨ The surprise performance by the legendary Norwegian fairy "Huldra" was truly one of the highlights of this trip. ✔️ The performance lasts approximately 5 minutes and may be canceled depending on the weather! -- ☕ Tips for Arriving in Myrdal A quick bite to eat at the cafe inside the station. Bicycle rentals are also available here! → They even adjusted the ride to your height 😎 → After filling out a personal information form, we checked in externally. --- 🚴♀️ Myrdal → Flåm bike descent, is this a true story? The descent was simply "awe-inspiring." My fingers hurt from braking (in a positive way). The beginning was a dirt road → the latter part turned into a paved road. The path was simple, so no worries about getting lost. There were plenty of viewpoints to stop and take pictures at. There was even a herd of goats blocking the road. 🐐ㅋㅋ 🌊 Clear stream water, 🏞 Dozens of waterfalls, 🌫 Foggy sections, 🧱 Tunnels... It all felt like a movie. --- 📚 Insights I've encountered during my trip Standing in front of a small village and gravestone I encountered while riding, I thought, "Just being able to experience this moment is a gift in itself." Escape from your busy daily life and take a moment to breathe in this vast nature – isn't that the real "travel"? --- 💡 Reference Tips 🚉 Morning departures are popular, so we recommend booking tickets in advance. ☔ Be careful, the bike path can be slippery in rain. 📸 Allow 3-4 hours for the descent and enjoy the scenery! 🧥 Even in summer, Northern Europe can be chilly, so be sure to bring a windbreaker. ⛑️ Bikes are provided with helmets and are in excellent condition (they even adjust the size for you). --- 💬 One-Line Review "This isn't just transportation; it's the art of walking, riding, and experiencing nature."
