May Day Holiday in Fenghuang Ancient Town

Day 1: Self-drive from Chongqing to Fenghuang 🚗 Set off from Chongqing to Fenghuang Ancient Town by car, stopping for lunch in Qianjiang to try the local specialty, Qianjiang Chicken Giblets. Arrived in Fenghuang around 6 PM, just in time for a night tour of the ancient town and to admire its beautiful night scenery. Day 2: Full-day exploration of the ancient town 1️⃣ Visit Shen Congwen's Former Residence, then head to the East Gate Tower for a panoramic view of part of the ancient town. 2️⃣ Stroll through the ancient town and explore its unique shops. 3️⃣ Get travel photos taken for the kids. 4️⃣ Enjoy a cup of coffee at "That Side of the Town" while soaking in the breeze from the Tuo River and relaxing. 5️⃣ Of course, the kids must try their hand at traditional tie-dyeing—a must-do in Fenghuang! 6️⃣ After dinner, return to the hotel to rest. Day 3: From Fenghuang to Youyang, half-day tour of Youyang Taohuayuan (Peach Blossom Spring), then head back to Chongqing around 5 PM, stopping in Pengshui for dinner before continuing the journey home. 🏨 Hotel Stay: During holidays, homestays in the ancient town are ridiculously expensive. Since we drove, we opted for the Howard Johnson Wanda Hotel in Fenghuang's urban area, just 2-3 km from the ancient town!
