Exeter Cathedral

1. Exeter Cathedral is one of the grandest churches in England, built in 1114. The distance from the Great West Door to the Great East Window is about 96 meters, making it the longest uninterrupted medieval vault in the world. 2. The unique 14th-century minstrel gallery features fourteen angel statues, twelve of which are playing medieval instruments. The choir stalls contain 49 medieval misericords, carved in the mid-13th century. The stained glass of the Great West Window was made in the 14th century. 3. Through a long history, the Exeter School of Art, founded in 1855, and the Exeter School of Science, founded in 1863, merged in 1900 to form the Royal Albert Memorial College. In 1922, the college developed into the "University College of the South West of England." 4. The rustic and dignified Washington Singer Building on the hillside became the first new building on the Streatham campus of that era. Standing in front of the blue carved lintel, looking up at the decorated coat of arms, the neoclassical architectural style, after a hundred years of wind and frost, adds a sense of humanistic spirit between the mountains and forests. 5. The St. Luke's campus at the foot of the mountain was once the oldest church college in England and is now the university's School of Education. The atmosphere created by the brick and stone cloisters still retains the layout of the church. Passing through the gatehouse, the lawn in front of you makes the simple and heavy campus come alive. Seeing seagulls flying by and children running, sitting on a wooden bench for a short rest, in the breeze and drizzle, you can feel the charm of the second largest education college in the UK. All are very distinctive.
