Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture

Enshi Grand Canyon is located in Tunbao Township and Banqiao Town of Enshi City, Hubei Province, at the junction of Hunan, Chongqing, and Hubei provinces. It is a section of the Qingjiang Grand Canyon, with a total length of 108 kilometers and a total area of more than 300 square kilometers, located 49 kilometers from Enshi City. The canyon boasts numerous geological wonders, such as Qingjiang White Clouds, sheer cliff peaks, Tianqiao cave groups, underground rivers and waterfalls, and tiankeng (sinkholes) and ground fissures. Geologists praise it as a 'world geological wonder, the Oriental Colorado.' Among them, the Yunlong ground fissure is the only ground fissure in the world with different geological ages on both sides. This place is also one of the birthplaces of ancient Ba culture, a historical site where Enshi Tusi (local chieftains) gathered troops throughout the ages. It retains historical and cultural relics of Tujia activities, and features the large-scale mountain and water live-action musical 'Dragon Boat Tune' theater and the Daughter's Village folk town. The scenic area has opened the entire Qixingzhai scenic area and part of the Yunlong ground fissure scenic area to the public, with an open area of about 35.2 square kilometers. The attractions mainly include geological landscapes such as peak clusters, sheer cliffs, waterfalls, and stone formations. It was officially opened to the public in October 2010 and was later rated as a national 5A-level tourist attraction, also winning titles such as 'Top Ten Most Influential Scenic Spots in Hubei Province.'
