TOKOPALAPA | Old-fashioned concept coffee shop

A shop in a well-maintained old house is not exclusive to Bandung or Bogor. I was surprised to find tokokopipalapa on a fairly busy street in Rawamangun, East Jakarta. Toko Kopi Palapa, like most old-fashioned themed shops, sells noodles, bread, and dim sum besides coffee. You can get full for under 50,000 IDR, even when breaking the fast, thanks to the 15,000 IDR chicken noodles which come in a generous portion. The chicken noodles come in three variants, one of which is Palapa chicken noodles with homemade chili oil. For 15,000 IDR, without any additional charges, it's really tasty and filling. Served with small noodles, it also comes with vegetables. For those who don't like spicy food, you can order savory Palapa chicken noodles and sweet soy sauce chicken noodles. If you want to try other dishes with chili oil, there is dim sum. The unique item is rotiboloni, or let's say bomboloni-style bread, filled with tiramisu, chocolate, or kaya cream. The bread is soft, and the cream is melt-in-your-mouth. This snack is also filling; a portion contains two pieces of bread.
