Let's take a look at some of the most common ethnic groups. Please note that the costumes used in these photos are not exact replicas of the original costumes; they have been modified to look more attractive and photogenic. 1️⃣ Xiyu (Images 2-5 next to the cover) This style of clothing isn't exactly considered ethnic clothing, but rather influenced by cultural and religious exchanges during the Silk Road. Xiyu refers to the western part of China, including Xinjiang, which has a large Muslim population. Therefore, the costumes have a bit of an Aladdin feel. Ideal tourist destinations for this style of clothing include the Mingsha Desert and Crescent Lake in Dunhuang, Gansu. 2️⃣ Tibetans (Images 6-9) Indigenous to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Tibetans prefer to wear clothing made from felt and cashmere. Tibetan clothing is characterized by long sleeves, a wide waist, a long dress, and high boots. Often adorned with gold or jade jewelry, they are ideal for photographing trips to Sichuan Province, such as Jiuzhaigou, where Tibetan culture is particularly strong. 3️⃣ Uyghur (Images 10-12) They have a unique dress culture. Men typically wear "chapan" (coats) with belts, while women wear dresses covered with jackets or blouses. A popular photo spot is the old town of Xinjiang. 4️⃣ Mongolian (Images 7-8) They have lived on the grasslands for generations, so their clothing clearly reflects the atmosphere of the grassland lifestyle. Most are brightly colored, loose-fitting robes suitable for riding, and often feature red or green silk or satin belts. 5️⃣ Miao (Images 15-17) They have a diverse range of clothing styles and are often brightly colored. They are also renowned for their silverware, particularly the silver hair ornaments used to decorate their heads while wearing their traditional tribal costumes.
