Dujiangyan Citywalk from City God Temple to West Street

🚶‍♂️Walking in Dujiangyan, there are not only the water conservancy project, a world cultural heritage site, but also the ancient buildings that have stood the test of time and are scattered throughout the ancient city. 🙋If you only have half a day in Dujiangyan or don't want to spend money to enter the scenic area, then you must visit the Dujiangyan City God Temple. Starting from here, you can also visit half of the Dujiangyan Scenic Area. ⛩️After entering the Xuanhua Gate of Guanxian Ancient City, the straight avenue shaded by sycamore trees is Happiness Road. At the end of Happiness Road is Yulu Mountain Park, which is a free-to-enter area of the Dujiangyan Scenic Area. After passing Yulu Mountain Square, the first stop is the Dujiangyan City God Temple. The building complex is built on the mountain, with a rigorous and ingenious structure. Since ancient times, it has been the guardian deity of Dujiangyan. The building complex is listed as a model work in the architectural textbook of Tsinghua University. 🙋Main attractions: 1️⃣The City God Temple is a group of buildings with a beam-and-column structure and a hipped roof. The building complex is divided into two areas, upper and lower. The upper area includes the Ma Wang Temple, the City God Temple, and the Empress Temple, which are built on the mountain. The lower area includes the Ten Dragon Temple and the Lingguan Building, which are built next to the Songmao Ancient Road at the foot of the mountain. 2️⃣The Ten Dragon Temple is the most ingenious in its layout. It is located on both sides of a straight uphill path. The adjacent gable walls of each room are double and triple eaves, staggered and orderly, like a flock of geese spreading their wings. 3️⃣The City God Temple is a temple dedicated to the City God, and its purpose is to promote education and encourage people to do good. The main hall of the City God Temple and the Empress Hall both have colorful painted statues. 4️⃣There is a statue of Kui Xing holding a pen on the right side of the entrance of the City God Temple. It is made of black wood and carved by hand. It is the only one in the country. If you are not careful, you may miss it. 5️⃣After passing the City God Temple and the Ma Wang Temple, continue uphill to the paid area of the Dujiangyan Scenic Area. The ticket price is 80 yuan. During holidays, the main entrance of Dujiangyan is crowded. However, there is no need to queue here. If you don't enter the scenic area, turn from the entrance of Songmao Ancient Road to West Street, an ancient street with a history of hundreds of years, a typical tea-horse ancient road. There is a city wall gate on West Street, where you can climb the city wall and overlook the ancient city.
