Meili Snow Mountain Hike | 4 Days and 3 Nights in Rainbun

Hiking in Rainbun Village at Meili Snow Mountain is a dream for many hiking enthusiasts. The trails vary in difficulty. Although the scenery is incredibly beautiful, it's a test of physical strength and willpower. If it's your first time in Rainbun, consider a 4-day, 3-night itinerary. 1️⃣ Day 1: Arrival in the Village There are several ways to get to Rainbun Village. Most people choose to travel by car, which saves energy. If you hike into the village, the dust along the way is excessive. Rainbun Village is divided into Upper Rainbun and Lower Rainbun. You can choose where to stay based on your hiking route. 2️⃣ Day 2: Ice Lake (14 km round trip, approximately 10 hours) Route: Upper Rainbun - Laughing Farmer Pass - Base Camp - Ice Lake This route has two challenging sections. One is the climb after passing through the primeval forest at the beginning, where there are no established paths, only gravel. The other is the "Desperation Slope" after the base camp, which is about 1 km long. 3️⃣ Day 3: Sacred Waterfall (13 km round trip, approximately 5 hours) This route is relatively easy and suitable for beginners. It's almost entirely paved, with only the last section being an uphill climb. 4️⃣ Day 4: Departure from the Village 🚗 Transportation 🚗 Self-drive: Self-driving is the most convenient, but you still need to take a local off-road vehicle to enter Rainbun Village. ✈️ Airport: The nearest airport to Rainbun is Shangri-La Airport. 🚄 High-speed Rail: Shangri-La has a high-speed rail station. 🚌 Bus: You can take a bus from Shangri-La Bus Station to Feilai Temple, then charter a car/share a car to Ninong, and transfer to an off-road vehicle to enter the village.
