A brief history of Chongsheng Temple in Dali.

Chongsheng Temple and the Three Pagodas is the only 5A scenic spot in Dali, bearing the history of the royal temple during the Dali Kingdom. It is not only the inspiration for the Tianlong Temple in Jin Yong's novel Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, but also the filming location for Black Myth: Wukong. During the restoration from 1978 to 1981, archaeologists discovered a large number of precious cultural relics from the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdom periods, proving its important historical, scientific, and artistic value. Nine emperors became monks here, so it can be considered a royal temple. The best part is the Mahavira Hall, which has about 30 Buddha statues and is very spectacular. Surprisingly, there are also prayer wheels here.
