Spain Westward Journey ~ León (Region) MUSAC is an original building designed by architects Emilio Tuñón and Luis Moreno Mansilla, where five exhibition rooms, a project hall, an auditorium, a teaching studio, a library and a retail area are the most important spaces of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Castile and León (MUSAC), which won the European Union Mies van der Rohe Prize for Contemporary Architecture in 2007. Emphasizes the shared interests of art and architecture in contemporary expression. The vestibule, mezzanine and courtyard are particularly important in the building’s white concrete interior, while the colorful exterior is reminiscent of the stained glass windows of León Cathedral. This large exhibition space strives to make the various objects on display as realistic as possible, completely engaging the viewer and creating a kind of dialogue with the artwork. MUSAC also hopes to highlight the uncertainties and contradictions that occur every day in the art world.
