2024 England Trip (IX): Cliffs of Moher.

The Cliffs of Moher are located in Liscannor, a coastal village in County Clare on the west-central edge of the island of Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher are the highest cliffs in Europe, facing the vast Atlantic Ocean. Its name translates to "Cliff of Destruction" and is famous for its danger. To see the panoramic view of the Cliffs of Moher, you need to walk to the main viewing platform, the south viewing platform, and the north viewing platform to appreciate its magnificent beauty from different angles. However, due to time constraints, we only chose the Main Observation Deck and the North Observation Deck. Climb up the mountain road until you reach the edge of the cliff, then walk north along the edge of the cliff. There were no guardrails on the cliffs in the past, and because of the high altitude and strong winds, people often fell off the cliffs. Although isolation belts or barbed wire have been installed today, there are always adventurous tourists who climb over them, and safety accidents still occur every year. There is some distance from the visitor center to the main viewing platform. For tourists with disabilities or mobility problems, the management office arranges vehicles to take them there and pick them up after their visit. All of this is free and makes people feel very harmonious and warm. Viewing the Cliffs of Moher is definitely an unforgettable experience. The highest point of the cliff is more than 200 meters above sea level and extends for 8 kilometers along the west coast of County Clare. There are no soft sandy beaches, no moving flowers and plants, only jagged black cliffs that are steep, cold and shocking. Below the cliff, the foaming ocean whirlpool makes people tremble. In the movie "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", Harry Potter and Dumbledore stood on a rock and flew to an isolated cave standing on the seashore, embarking on a dangerous journey to find out the reason for Voldemort's immortality. This cave is located at the Cliffs of Moher. Of course, this isn’t the first time the Cliffs of Moher have been adapted for the silver screen. Walk a few hundred meters north from the main viewing platform to reach O'Brien's Tower. This is the best vantage point to view the Cliffs of Moher. On a sunny day, you can even see the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. The tower was built in 1835 by local landowner Sir Cornelius O'Brien and was rebuilt in 1970 and 2008. Cliffs of Moher
