Exploring Banyasa Temple

#summervacay if you're cruising through Chungcheongnam and want to check out something different, Banyasa Temple in Nonsan-si is a total hidden gem. It’s not your usual temple, it’s got this wild cave vibe because it was actually built into an old limestone mine. So yeah, part of the temple is literally inside a mountain. Kinda spooky, kinda magical. You walk through this tunnel-like entrance and bam, shrine spaces, glowing lights, and cool air that hits different. There’s even this big stone carving of Gwanseeum-bosal inside and a little area for the Dragon King, which adds to the whole mystical feel. The main hall is set against a cliff, and there’s a stream nearby with a rock shaped like a tiger. Super random, super cool. It’s not crowded at all, which means you can take your time, breathe in some fresh mountain air, and just chill. Free entry, easy parking, and great for photos. Honestly, it’s a super mellow, quirky spot worth the detour.
