Chiayi Station (Taiwan Railways)

The existing reinforced concrete structure of the station was completed in 1933 (Showa 8). In 1945 (Showa 20), the station suffered significant damage during an air raid by U.S. forces, and it was restored in 1949 after the war. In 1992, a rear station was established behind the main station, and in 1998, the station was designated as a municipal historic site. Currently, construction is underway to elevate the station, with completion expected by 2030. To transfer to Taiwan High-Speed Rail, passengers can take a bus from the rear station. However, due to the ongoing construction, the underground passage within the station and the overpass outside the station have been removed.
