Wat Rong Khun

From a small temple that was in a rather dilapidated state, it has become a beautiful religious site with architecture and art that is full of delicate and delicate patterns, attracting tourists to visit this temple all year round. The chapel of Wat Rong Khun is pure white, which has become a unique identity that is remembered by foreign tourists who call Wat Rong Khun the White Temple (Thailand White Temple). It is decorated with intricate gable decorations and many other delicate patterns in layers. The pediment is decorated with Naga serpents and glittering mirrors. The intention of the creator was to convey various symbols in Buddhism. The white color represents purity and the mirror represents the wisdom of the Lord Buddha that shines brightly. In addition, the chapel is built on a low hill with a clear lake that clearly reflects the building. The long bridge leading to the chapel represents crossing the cycle of rebirth to reach Buddhahood. The upper part of the roof has presented important principles of morality, concentration and wisdom in the form of animals on various gable decorations. Inside the chapel, there are murals and a building displaying paintings located inside the temple to showcase the works of Ajarn Chalermchai for tourists to admire. It is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The gallery is open Monday-Friday 8am-5.30pm, Saturday-Sunday and public holidays 8am-6pm.
