Wat Phan Tao, Chiang Mai Province

Wat Phan Tao or Wat Pan Tao (Thousand Times) means making merit once but will receive merit in return a hundred, a thousand times. An ancient temple of Chiang Mai people, the temple is located in the inner moat next to Wat Chedi Luang. It is a very beautiful temple in Lanna style, peaceful, suitable for making merit, worshiping Buddha, and asking for blessings. The temple has many corners for taking pictures. The building of the Royal Vihara is a teak house in Chiang Saen style. The door frame is decorated with carved peacocks. Inside is the shrine of Phra Chao Pan Tao (Thousand Times). Behind the Royal Vihara is a bell-shaped pagoda on an octagonal base surrounded by many pagodas. The temple also has antiques, which are ancient pulpits built together with the principal Buddha image in the Royal Vihara. The temple also holds a candle lighting ceremony. The ceremony is held 4 times a year. On Sundays at night, there is a walking street. The temple is open for worship. There is a service of offerings next to the temple.
