This temple has a long history, having been founded around 1355 CE during the reign of King Ku Na of the Mangrai Dynasty. Legend has it that the spot where the elephant stopped served as a memorial for the construction of a chedi or temple. This was one of the stops for the transport of the sacred relics up Doi Suthep. ✨ Highlights & Attractions — An ancient Burmese-style chedi, distinguished by its structure, covered in moss, ferns, and natural moisture, offers a contemporary and natural blend. — A wooden vihara, built during the reign of Kruba Srivijaya by Burmese craftsmen, features intricately carved patterns on both the front and back of the vihara, featuring symbolic motifs such as peacocks and rabbits. — A small waterfall within the temple grounds, with a stream or small waterfall flowing through the temple grounds. If you want to avoid the long walk, you should bring comfortable walking shoes. •— There's an entrance from Channel 7 TV station, which marks the beginning of a nature trail, approximately 2 kilometers long, leading to Wat Phalat.
