Heijiang Pavilion

#mytraveldiary Hejiang Pavilion (合江亭, Héjiāng Tíng) in Chengdu — history, what to see, how to visit, and why it’s worth going. Hejiang Pavilion is located in Jinjiang District, Chengdu, at the confluence of the Fu River (Fuhe) and Nanhe River. When those rivers meet, they form what’s known as the Funan River. The original Hejiang Pavilion was built about 1,200 years ago, during the Tang Dynasty. Specifically, in the era of Governor Wei Gao, around the Zhenyuan period. It was rebuilt / renovated in the Northern Song Dynasty and had become a popular gathering place — for officials, literati, and general citizens to enjoy banquets, send‑offs, poetry, watching boats, etc. It was also used as a ferry terminal / port of sorts.
