Stroll through Chengdu and encounter the iconic landscape of the two rivers embracing the city

Take Metro Line 2 and get off at Dongmen Bridge Station. Walk south along Xiangxiangzi Road, and the air is filled with a faint smell of distiller's grains. At the end of the road is Shuijing Street, where the wine flags of Shuijingfang are flying on the side of the street. There are two golden ginkgo trees in front of the museum, and the leaves are scattered all over the ground. When you enter the museum, the staff is very enthusiastic and suggests that you come back at 9:30 am tomorrow, because you can see the workers operating on site at that time. Following the advice, I left Shuijingfang, passed through Lan Kwai Fong, and came to the Fuhe River. I crossed the bridge over the Fuhe River and walked south along the riverbank. The road next to it is called Tianxianqiao South Road. The Fuhe River meets the Nanhe River not far ahead. The Jinjiang River is the collective name for the Fuhe River and the Nanhe River. They are the mother river of Chengdu and are also called the Funan River. At the confluence of the two rivers, there is a Hejiang Pavilion, which is formed by two double-eave hexagonal pavilions. It is a landmark building of the two rivers embracing the city in Chengdu. Hejiang Pavilion was built in the Zhenyuan period of the Tang Dynasty and was destroyed by war in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was rebuilt on the original site in 1989. Standing on the Hejiang Pavilion, you can see the pier on the opposite bank. The night tour of Jinjiang here is a major feature of Chengdu. Not far downstream, there is a gallery bridge across the Fuhe River. Further down is the Jiuyan Bridge, where the most famous bar street in Chengdu is located. Cross the Fuhe River from the gallery bridge, come to the opposite bank, and go to Jiuyan Bridge via the bar street. Go up the bridge along the stairs next to it, and look down from the railing. You can see the calm river. There is a dam not far away, and the river falls from there, which causes a lot of waves, and then gradually returns to calm. The Fuhe River turns a corner here, and the Wangjiang Tower is also hidden and out of sight. In order to save time, I took a bus for two stops and came to the south gate of Wangjiang Tower Park. When I walked into the park, I found that Wangjiang Tower Park is divided into two parts: the garden open area and the cultural relics protection area. The cultural relics protection area is located at the north gate. The bamboo forest in the park is dense, and it is getting late, making it even darker. After passing through a large area of dense forest, I finally found the entrance to the cultural relics protection area in a courtyard, and the staff at the door was still there. However, the news I got was that the park stopped admitting visitors at 5:00, and it was already 5:30. It seems that both Shuijingfang and Wangjiang Tower need to be visited twice to see their true appearance.
