The Land of Abundance's Enchanting Nightscape

🌟Chengdu: The Beating Heart🫀 of Ba-Shu Culture! 📜From the Can Cong Dynasty to a Modern Metropolis The story of Jin Guan City dates back 3,000 years—this is the homeland of the Jinsha Ruins. According to "Records of Huayang", "Can Cong was the first king of Shu." While the bronze Sun and Immortal Bird rotated on sacrificial altars, the Zhou Dynasty was still using oracle bones for divination. Strolling through Chengdu today, you'll find Li Bing's wisdom in constructing the Dujiangyan irrigation system still flowing through the Funan River, and the love story of Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun eloping still echoed on Qintai Road. 🏯Living History in Ancient Sites 1️⃣ Kuanzhai Alley Past: Military alleys of the Manchu City Present: Sip tea from lidded bowls in Qing-era gray-brick houses while watching face-changing performers reveal colorful masks behind folding fans. Pro tip: Try shouting "Boss, refill!" in Chengdu dialect for a delightful surprise. 2️⃣ Wuhou Shrine Highlight: China's only shrine honoring both ruler and ministers Story: The Ming Dynasty wall inscription "Psychological Warfare Couplet" remains thought-provoking—"To win hearts makes rebellion vanish, true strategists since ancient times never loved war." The clay sculptures of Shu Han officials, even Guan Yu's phoenix eyes, exude the unique local charm of Sichuan. 3️⃣ Du Fu Thatched Cottage Fun fact: The Thousand-Poetry Stone Forest hides mysteries When Du Fu wrote "My window frames the snow-crowned western mountain" in his humble cottage, he never imagined his verses would be carved on over 2,000 peculiar stones. Find the "Joyful Rain on a Spring Night" stele that changes color with rain—like discovering a time capsule. 🐼A Symphony of Modern and Classical Standing atop the 339 TV Tower overlooking the city, you suddenly understand—Chengdu's magic lies in how the bronze protruding-eyed masks converse across time with the IFS climbing panda, how bamboo chairs in old teahouses share ginkgo leaves with luxury boutiques in Taikoo Li. At 2 AM, milky-white trotter soup still comforts night owls, while at dawn, the first clinking of ear-cleaning tools already echoes through Heming Teahouse.

📅 Itinerary Day1:First day we went exploring the city. Just walk around and ended up at Tianfu sq. In the afternoon I went back to Wenzhou Yuan Monastery and the surrounding neighbourhood. Since we were pretty Jet lagged this was a very short day. In the evening we went to Kuan / Zhai alley for food. Which was a pretty cute area to move around and enjoy the evening. Day2: we started with the chengdu museum. Which was pretty awesome and then spend the afternoon in the people’s park and surrounding area. Also did some shopping along Chunxi Road. The afternoon we went to Wu Hu Shrine, where we also got food in the food street next door. Day3: we went to the panda research centre where in the morning (getting up early is really recommended to see them feed in the Morning), the afternoon we went to the Du Fu thatched cottage museum. Evening was spend near Anshun bridge for food and drinks. 🏨 Accommodation : we stayed at the MeHood hotel near Wenzhou Yuan monastry which was a pretty nice stay. Next time might get something more central. 📌 Tips : go to the panda centre Early to see them Have a go at their bamboo.
