Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum | A Splendid Treasure of Ancient Shu Civilization.

Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum is an archaeological museum built to protect, research, and display Jinsha culture and ancient Shu civilization. It is located at No. 2 Jinsha Site Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The museum was officially opened to the public on April 16, 2007, covering an area of 300,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 40,000 square meters. Jinsha Site Museum is not only a national first-class museum but also a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The museum consists of the Relics Hall, Exhibition Hall, Cultural Relics Protection and Restoration Center, Cultural Exchange Center, Garden Area, and other parts. The Relics Hall is located in the east of the museum, a semi-circular all-steel structure with a sloping roof, covering an area of 7,588 square meters. It is the most important archaeological excavation site of the Jinsha Site and the place where the earliest relics of the Jinsha Site were discovered. The Exhibition Hall is located on the north bank of the Modi River, a square all-steel structure with a sloping roof, with two floors above ground and one floor underground, covering an area of 16,000 square meters. The theme exhibition "Into Jinsha" consists of five exhibition halls: "Ancient Home," "Silhouette of the Kingdom," "Heaven and Earth," "Thousand-Year Relics," and "Interpretation of Jinsha," which mainly display important relics and artifacts, using modern technology to showcase the ancient Shu Jinsha culture. The garden area of Jinsha Site Museum has a greening coverage rate of up to 80%, with more than 50,000 saplings and trees, more than 70,000 shrubs, and a bamboo forest covering more than 20 acres, forming a plant forest dominated by ginkgo, metasequoia, and Phoebe zhennan. The leisure and cultural landscapes such as the Ebony Forest and the Jade Road allow visitors to experience the vicissitudes of the land under their feet for thousands of years and the hard work of the ancestors in carving jade. The discovery of the Jinsha Site pushed the history of Chengdu's city construction back to more than 1,000 years ago, providing important materials for studying the history of Chengdu. The jade artifacts unearthed at the Jinsha Site are important materials for studying the jade culture of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. The "Sun God Bird" gold ornament pattern unearthed at the Jinsha Site has been identified as the main pattern of the Chinese cultural heritage logo and the Chengdu city image logo. Jinsha Site Museum is now a research and practice education base for primary and secondary school students nationwide and a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Sichuan Province. Since its opening in 2007, it has received more than 12.73 million visitors from home and abroad.
