Chengdu Museum is the largest comprehensive urban museum in Southwest China and a national first-class museum with a history of 65 years. It is located at No. 1 Xiaohe Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu, and was established on September 15, 1958. After several development stages, the new museum was officially opened to the public on September 15, 2016. The museum covers an area of about 17 mu, with a total construction area of about 65,000 square meters and an exhibition area of about 20,000 square meters. The permanent exhibitions of Chengdu Museum include "The City of Brocade: Chengdu Historical and Cultural Exhibition (Ancient, Modern, and Folk)", "Shadow Play and Puppetry: Chinese Shadow Puppetry and Puppetry Exhibition", and "Man and Nature: Bering Donation Exhibition". There are nearly 300,000 pieces in the collection, forming a relatively complete collection series from the Neolithic Age to the Republic of China, including historical relics, shadow puppets, modern and contemporary paintings and calligraphy, and more. The exhibition content of Chengdu Museum is rich, not only displaying various cultural relics unearthed in Chengdu over the years, reflecting the general situation of ancient Shu culture and the process of economic and cultural development in Chengdu's history, but also covering bronzes, gold, silver, jade, pottery, stoneware, porcelain, stone carvings, paintings, and furniture. Among them, ancient stone carvings and Han Dynasty portrait bricks are particularly famous and have high artistic value. In addition, Chengdu Museum actively launches online exhibition modes, such as panoramic tours, 3D images of cultural relics, and audio guides, allowing visitors to experience the museum's exhibitions in various ways.
