Big Event: "Xingeng Villa"

"Xingeng Villa" faces east and sits west. It has a mansion-style brick and wood structure and consists of a gatehouse, courtyard, front hall, back hall, wing rooms, and a small attic. There are four symmetrical wing rooms on the left and right of the patio in front of the hall, and two rooms on each side of the hall and back hall. The house is not big, but it is the place where many important events took place. In March 1929, the Red Fourth Army entered Fujian for the first time and set up its headquarters and political department in this villa. Comrades Mao Zedong, Zhu De and Chen Yi also lived here. For a time, Xingeng Villa became the command center of the Red Fourth Army and held an enlarged meeting of the Red Fourth Army's Front Committee. Zhu De and Kang Keqing held their wedding in Xingeng Villa. Xingeng Villa is located at No. 11, Tingjiang Lane, Tingzhou Town, Changting County, Fujian Province. It was originally the villa of Lu Zelin, the president of Changting Chamber of Commerce during the Republic of China period.
