Stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns.

DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns is located just a block or two away from the center of Cairns. It is very close to the Cairns Aquarium. There is a paid parking lot under the hotel, but the street parking in front is free. If you are driving, the free parking is highly recommended if available. There was a Japanese staff member at the front desk, although not always. In addition to the front desk, the lobby has a restaurant, a tour desk, and a garden with a pond that has several large koi fish. Upon check-in, you will receive a warm cookie as a welcome gift. The hotel has many rooms and looks somewhat like an apartment building at first glance. It is clean but shows some signs of age. The bathroom has a bathtub, and the toiletries are from Crabtree & Evelyn. As of February 2025, the pool is under renovation, but guests can use the Hilton pool instead. I wanted to go, but I didn't have time, so I had to give up. The renovation of the public spaces is expected to continue until July 31, 2025.
