Rarely seen white waterfalls and blue rivers

#VisitHokkaido Shirahige Waterfall is another popular tourist attraction in Biei. Although it is a small waterfall, it is ranked as one of the 5 most beautiful waterfalls in Hokkaido. The source of this waterfall comes from an underground stream flowing from the Tokachi Mountains, passing under Shirogane Onsen, which is in the same area. The white water from the waterfall is just as the name Shirahige means “white beard waterfall.” It flows into the Biei River, which is dark blue from volcanic minerals, earning it the name Blue River. When the water from the two streams mixes, it becomes turquoise blue, flowing to Shirogane Blue Pond, which is not far away. It is a type of waterfall that is very hard to find. 📌 How to get there 🚌 Bus: Dohoku Bus No. 39 (Shirogane Line) from Asahikawa Station or Biei Station and get off at Shirogane Onsen Station. 🚗 Car: You can park your car at the Shirogane Onsen parking lot. Visiting the waterfall is the most convenient of all the waterfalls I have ever visited because you don't have to climb or walk far. From the parking lot, walk a little bit and you will see a bridge that is a point to view the waterfall. You can easily stop and take pictures from the bridge. Even the elderly can visit.
