At about 6 pm on August 4, 2020, a huge explosion occurred in the port area of ​​Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. After preliminary investigation, the cause of the accident was due to management negligence, which caused the explosion of 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate and a large number of fireworks. The accident caused a total of about 220 deaths, 7,000 injuries, damage to 50,000 houses, 9 large hospitals and 178 schools, and losses of up to 150 billion US dollars. After the accident, the then Lebanese Prime Minister Diab declared August 5 as a national day of mourning. Today I see many pictures of the names of deceased people on the cement walls beside the road.
