Gubei Water Town

#chinatravel Gubei Water Town is like a movie set, but real. It’s a couple hours from central Beijing and feels like stepping into an ancient postcard. Think cobblestone streets, lanterns everywhere, little canals, and those classic rooftops. Super pretty, especially at night when it all lights up. The coolest part? It sits right next to Simatai Great Wall. You can actually hike up (or take a cable car if you’re not feeling sporty) and catch sunset views over the town. Unreal. Wandering around the town is super relaxing. There are tons of snack stalls, cute cafes, and little shops selling handmade stuff. Also, hot springs. Yes, you can soak while looking at the mountains. Total win. It’s touristy, yeah, but it’s done in a way that still feels peaceful. Go on a weekday if you can for fewer crowds. Definitely bring a jacket if you're going in the evening, it cools down fast. Gubei’s one of those places that makes you slow down and just enjoy.
