Driving for over an hour on the weekend, rushing from the 30-plus-degree city into the cool summer retreat of Beigou Village in Qingliang Valley, an international village at the forefront of fashion trends. The moment I arrived, I experienced the refreshing coolness of summer. So who said living at the foot of the Great Wall means you have to hike? I choose to lounge in the red brick courtyard and enjoy a third kind of life🍉 Sansan is an aesthetic space that blends an old gas station with nature. The rooms feature wabi-sabi style combined with rustic elements. The housekeeper prepared a ethereal drum and sheet music🎼 for me. After a simple lesson, I was healed by its unique sound. From the second-floor room, you can see the Mutianyu Great Wall. Each window frames a view, each a beautiful painting. I love a life rhythm that’s neither rushed nor slow. Country life is my spiritual pursuit. Only here can I truly relax, embrace nature, return to simplicity, and reconnect with my original intention. By chance, I encountered the Huairou Village Coffee Market, right on the big lawn of the Sansan campsite. It’s said to be held only once a year, with an open-air concert + multiple independent coffee brands + interactive handmade experiences. There’s also a starlight concert at night🌟 The nearby Wa Hotel is also very special, with colorful glass shards🧩 scattered throughout the space, somewhat reminiscent of Park Güell in Barcelona. The Wa Art Museum regularly exhibits works by intangible cultural heritage artists.
