The Great Wall at Badaling & Longqing Gorge with Parents and a 5-Year-Old

The weather during this trip was absolutely perfect! We opted for a private guided tour, which was a bit pricey, but the clean air at the Great Wall and the stunning scenery at Longqing Gorge made it totally worth it! Since we had a child with us, we took the cable car up and walked about 100 meters further to reach the top. There are options to go both up and down, but we chose to go higher for the view. 😊 It was incredibly crowded, and the path is very steep, making it somewhat dangerous. Strollers are absolutely not an option! Even for walking, you need to hold onto the railings as you climb. There are stairs in some parts and flat areas in others. If you're traveling with parents or children, I highly recommend hiring a private guide for a more comfortable experience. Also, while traveling in China, I noticed that most places had toilet paper, but in Beijing, there was none at all 😭. Be sure to carry your own tissue paper! After visiting Badaling, we went to KFC for lunch, but it was too crowded, so we ended up at Subway. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it—it was really disappointing. 😢 Keep this in mind if you're planning to visit! Personally, if you're planning a trip to China, I would recommend Shanghai over Beijing. 😊
