I could feel that it was not a tourist attraction, but a place where someone's memories and beliefs were accumulated, just from the atmosphere. In the garden inside the temple, monks were quietly cleaning, and the sight of local Chinese elders burning incense and praying was impressive. There were hardly any people taking pictures, so it was a place that felt like a meditation in itself. Yanda Temple, which I encountered while walking around Beijing, was not fancy, but a place that I remembered for a long time. It was a walk that left a deep impression that was too sad to pass up.
