China Oil Painting Academy: A Niche and Popular Spot in Beijing

Founded in 2007, the China Oil Painting Academy is located at 1704 Cultural and Art New Street, Gaobeidian, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is a complex integrating an art museum, exhibition hall, lecture hall, museum, and artist studios. Originally a factory building of a township enterprise in the 1970s, it was renovated in 2007 into its current form. The architectural style is unique, with an overall grayish-white tone. The cement structure has a strong texture, and the minimalist style is eye-catching. It not only exhibits exquisite oil paintings but is also a popular spot for taking photos. The permanent exhibition on the third floor of the Cloud Art Museum in the academy is a high-quality exhibition. You can see paintings by masters such as Yang Feiyun (former president of the China Oil Painting Academy, Chinese National Academy of Arts), Zhan Jianjun (honorary president of the China Oil Painting Society), Xu Beihong, and Chen Danqing. Located on the East Fifth Ring Road, the China Oil Painting Academy is free and open to the public. It has relatively few visitors, allowing people to feel peace and comfort in an artistic atmosphere.
