Beijing Houju Hotel (Bird's Nest) and Shichahai

When I first arrived in Beijing, I chose to stay at the Houju Hotel (Bird's Nest). As soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by the warm and elegant decor. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, quickly checking me in and making me feel at home after a long journey. The room was simple yet stylish, with all the necessary amenities. The bed was soft and comfortable. Although the room didn't have a direct view of the Bird's Nest, I could still feel the city's energy and vibrancy. There were many restaurants around the hotel, and I randomly chose an old Beijing-style noodle shop. The rich and flavorful sauce paired with the chewy noodles was a taste of authentic Beijing. The next day, I went to Shichahai. As soon as I got off the bus, I was captivated by the shimmering lake. The willow trees along the shore swayed gently in the breeze, as if telling the stories of old Beijing. Walking along the lake, I saw many traditional courtyard houses with red doors and intricate brick carvings, showcasing the city's rich history. A boat ride on Shichahai is a must-do. I rented a small boat and drifted leisurely on the lake. The gentle breeze was refreshing and relaxing. In the distance, the Yinding Bridge spanned the two banks, with cars and boats passing by, creating a harmonious scene. In addition to the natural scenery, the cultural atmosphere around Shichahai is also very strong. I visited a small shop in a hutong, filled with various traditional Beijing handicrafts, such as paper cuttings and clay figurines. I bought a few as souvenirs. Then, I went to the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling, where I felt the life of a great person in the tranquil courtyard. As night fell, Shichahai transformed into a different scene. The bar street was bustling, with colorful lights reflecting on the lake and complementing the ancient buildings along the shore. I found a quiet bar, ordered a cocktail, and listened to the singer's heartfelt performance. Reflecting on the day's wonderful experiences, I felt a deep attachment to the city. My stay at the Beijing Houju Hotel (Bird's Nest) and my visit to Shichahai were unforgettable memories of my trip.
