From smoke and prayers to the legacy of the Imperial Academy, witness a century of change

Last Saturday, I visited the Yonghe Temple and the Imperial Academy, and had a very meaningful day. As soon as I arrived at the Yonghe Temple, I was greeted by a lively atmosphere. Worshippers held incense sticks and candles with devout expressions. I followed the crowd inside, and among the red walls and golden tiles, the smoke of incense lingered. The solemn and dignified Buddha statues in the hall made me feel calm instantly. I followed the crowd to offer incense and make a wish. After leaving the Yonghe Temple, I went to the Imperial Academy across the street. Unlike the lively atmosphere of the Yonghe Temple, it was very quiet here. Walking into the Imperial Academy felt like traveling back in time to an ancient school. The Dacheng Hall enshrines a statue of Confucius, and I paid my respects with reverence. The most amazing part is the Biyong, where the emperor gave lectures. It is surrounded by water on all sides, and is solemn and beautiful. On this trip, I felt the power of faith at the Yonghe Temple and the charm of ancient education at the Imperial Academy. The two attractions are close to each other, and visiting both in one day is very satisfying. I recommend everyone to come and experience it!
