Nanhaizi Park in autumn.

Today I went to Nanhaizi Park, which is located at No. 16 Huangyi Road, Daxing District, Beijing. It is the largest wetland park in Beijing. Historically, it was a royal hunting ground during the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The "Autumn Wind in the Southern Garden," one of the ten scenic spots in Yanjing in ancient times, is located in the park. I entered the southeast gate of the park from Sanhaizi East Road and walked clockwise. Since it rained all day in Beijing yesterday, the air in the park was very humid and fresh, and the road was covered with fallen leaves, especially the section from the southeast gate to the south gate, which was covered with golden ginkgo leaves. There is a tall archway gate at the south gate, which is very beautiful. There is a large square here called Zhuque Square. Below it is a large water surface, which is one of the two main water bodies in the park, Luming Lake. The lake is very blue, and there are flocks of waterfowl swimming near the shore, accepting food from tourists. I observed that most of them are wild ducks like mallards. There is a white stone bridge in the distance. Continuing clockwise from the south gate, passing by scenic spots such as Wangyuan Pavilion and Liangying Platform, I quickly arrived at the Milu Deer Garden, which is surrounded by fences. This is a place for ecological protection and scientific research of milu deer in Nanhaizi Park, with more than 140 milu deer inside. After entering the Milu Deer Garden, I walked over a long cultural bridge, with many poems and articles about Nanhaizi written by ancient people on the railings on both sides. After crossing the bridge, I saw a row of panels introducing extinct creatures (mainly animals) in the world. Inside the wire mesh wall opposite is where the milu deer are fed. As I walked further inside, I saw many blue peacocks everywhere. They were leisurely strolling in the grass and on the road, not afraid of passing tourists, and even actively chasing tourists who fed them. There is also a Milu Deer Garden Museum in the Milu Deer Garden, located in the Science Popularization Building. It is a niche museum themed around deer from all over the world, where you can learn a lot about deer. The entire Milu Deer Garden is very large, and you can walk to the north gate. The water surface inside is the other main water body in Nanhaizi Park, Yanying Lake. Since I had to catch a flight in the afternoon, Nanhaizi Park is very large, and I didn't have time to go to other places, especially the Nanhaizi Cultural Park, which I really wanted to visit. After passing by Beitang Yanying and Shengshi Bridge, I returned to the southeast gate and left the park.
