Lugou Bridge and Wanping City are located in the southwest of Beijing.

Lugou Bridge has a history of more than 800 years. It is very strong, with iron pillars running through the stone. Scientific tests were conducted on the load-bearing capacity of Lugou Bridge, and a 429-ton oversized flatbed truck passed safely and smoothly over the bridge. My mom brought my sister and me here once, and the last time I came was with my middle school. Back then, you could touch the lions, but now there are fences. Wanping City is right across from Lugou Bridge. You can stroll around inside, but it's just a residential area. The War of Resistance Museum is closed for renovations, so we didn't go. The city walls still have bullet marks. The Lugou Bridge area has been a transportation hub and military stronghold in Beijing, and has seen many battles. From the "Battle of the Two Capitals" where Yan Tiemu'er defeated Husi Tai and Mazahan at Lugou Bridge to lift the siege of Dadu, to the Ming general Xu Da sending troops to guard Lugou Bridge against the Yuan remnants; from the "Jingnan Campaign" where Zhu Di and Emperor Jianwen fought, to the "Tumu Crisis" where Yu Qian held firm, Lugou Bridge, as the "throat of the capital," has been repeatedly tested by war. Lugou Bridge is the lifeline of Beijing. Wars have started here throughout history.
