Conquering Simatai 司马台 Great Wall of China

#familytrips2024 We made it to the Great Wall of China! We didn’t want to visit the heavily visited Great Wall like MuTian Yu and Badaling, so we opted for the ‘tougher’ route- simatai. It is indeed more damaged and broken as what the local people say. There’s no railing at the side hence one has to be careful when climbing the Great Wall. It was a great experience for my family. The experience of climbing the Great Wall is such a great fulfilment. We met a local couple and they congratulated us for making to the top and we are a family of 好汉 🤣 the Chinese has a saying, “不到长城非好汉！” 好汉 could possibly mean great and courageous people. You may like to opt for this location if you are interested to go to Great Wall with lesser tourists.
