The National Museum of Classic Books presents Tea and the World

⭐️ Tea originated in China, and was initially used as an offering. However, from the late Spring and Autumn period, it was consumed as a vegetable, and by the middle Western Han dynasty, it was used medicinally. It wasn't until the later Western Han dynasty that it became a high-class court beverage, and it only spread to the general public as a common drink after the Western Jin dynasty. 🌟 The earliest evidence of artificially cultivated tea was found at the Tianluoshan site in Yuyao, Zhejiang, which has a history of over 6,000 years. Tea drinking began in China. The leaves are leathery, oblong or oval-shaped, and can be brewed directly with boiling water. Based on variety, production method, and product shape, they are divided into six main categories. 🍀 Depending on the season of harvest, teas are categorized as spring, summer, autumn, and winter teas.
