Heping Guoju is located on the second basement floor of the Wangfujing Department Store in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is an immersive cultural and commercial complex that deeply explores the local culture of Beijing. Covering more than 2,400 square meters, Heping Guoju has recreated scenes from old Beijing such as Lingjing Hutong, Meichang Hutong, Quanye Chang, and Xiaoju Temple, introducing famous Beijing dining snacks and consumer brands as well as numerous intangible cultural heritage projects. On the basis of traditional crafts, it revitalizes time-honored brands and has launched its own new consumer brands such as Guoju pastries and Guochao Guotea. In addition to traditional consumer items, Guoju has also introduced cultural consumption projects popular with young people, such as holographic theaters. Moreover, not only does it reproduce the streetscape and market alleys of old Beijing, but it also offers a variety of Beijing snacks, such as stewed dishes, fried liver, and Zhajiang noodles, which are fragrant and tempting; peach crisp, beef tongue cakes, and lotus seed pastries, which leave a delightful taste; and figs, plum candies, and tangerine cans, all filled with childhood memories.
