Yanqi lake day trip

We had a wonderful day trip to Yanqi lake. It took us less than 1.5 hours to drive there on a weekday. I have been wanting to go to the Sunrise Kempinski building for years as it looks so cool and I have seen it many times while driving past it. Finally I made it. It’s actually super nice to see it from the side that is pointing towards the lake. We enjoyed a buffet lunch at the Element restaurant of the second floor of the hotel. A variety of different foods to choose from. After spending some time at the hotel we rented bikes and did a bike tour around the area. Very professional bikes and the bike renters even provided us with two guides and a medical person as we came in a group of 30 people. After biking for about an hour or so we ended our trip at Yanqi hotel where we had dinner at the restaurant called lake palace. Amazing food and the hotel looks fantastic from what we saw of the views of the lake and amazing lobby area. Next time I would love to come here for an afternoon tea. #huairou #beijing #yanqilake #biking
