Wat Samian Nari: A Temple Built by a Noblewoman

- According to records from the Department of Religious Affairs, Wat Samian Nari was established in the year 2400 BE, during the late reign of King Rama V. - The temple was initiated by a noblewoman from the royal court who held the position of a clerk in the treasury department, known as "Samian Kham." Initially, the temple was named "Wat Khae Rai." Samian Kham not only founded the temple but also took care of its maintenance until the end of her life. - Later, the name "Wat Khae Rai" was changed to "Wat Samian Nari" to honor the noblewoman who initiated its construction and to commemorate her contributions. The name reflects the fact that the temple was founded by a female clerk, and it has retained this name to the present day.
