2024 Bangkok Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in September)
Energetic, chaotic, and majestic, these are just a few words that come to mind when describing Bangkok. The heart and capital of Thailand, Bangkok is one of the most sprawling and metropolitan cities in Asia, and a popular gateway into the country. A city that has deeply rooted traditions and cosmopolitan attitudes, Bangkok has abundant cultural fascinations to captivate travelers from all over the world.Located close to the Gulf of Thailand, Bangkok is a city of waterways with the Chao Phraya River flowing through it. Back in the 19th century, as most of the city’s residents lived near or on the water, the city is known as the “Venice of the East.” While the history of Bangkok dates back about 600 years, it didn’t become the capital city until the 18th century. Through trade and commerce, the city expanded to its current scale. Today tourism is one of the major sources of revenue in Bangkok. With a tropical monsoon climate, the capital is hot and humid year-round. The most pleasant months to visit are from November to March when the heat and humidity are at their lowest. But this also means crowds are at their peak in late Fall and Winter, and this is particularly true around the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. If you don’t mind the monsoon season, July and August are the off-peak seasons where many good deals are available on hotels and flights. There are so many first-rate scenic spots on offer in Bangkok, it is impossible to see them all if you only have a few days. For major tourist attractions in Bangkok, most are historical or religious sites. Make sure you admire the amazing architectural design of the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, pay homage to the sacred Jade Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) or the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho), or cruise past the temples and mansions on the Chao Phraya River (River of Kings). It is worth noting that, as many sites are sacred, there are strict rules which all visitors must follow. For instance, dress codes at the Grand Palace and various temples, men must wear long pants, shirts with sleeves, and no bare feet are permitted. Women must wear modest clothing that covers knees and shoulders.

✈️ Fly Solo with me to Bangkok
#solotravel #100WaysOfTravel
My first flight out from Singapore was to redeem Singapore Airlines business class to Bangkok when they had Spontaneous Escapes sale. It was a good idea because at Suvarnabhumi Airport, business class passengers were allowed to use the fast track lanes. It was super useful to bypass the long immigration lines and my luggage already had priority tags. So it was a fast arrival for me at Bangkok and my airport transfer were already waiting for me. On this trip, I was staying at Millennium Hilton Bangkok in their panoramic suite so everything was rolling. I did not even had a chance to carry my luggage. The airport transfer driver took care of it then the hotel staff took care of it. They even placed it in my suite for me while I was having a drink at the executive lounge.

bangkok recommend stay :karaarom hotel
During this trip to Bangkok, I did some research to meet my needs and budget, and choosing to stay at Karaarom turned out to be the perfect decision!
The hotel's environment and decor are absolutely stunning. The overall design, featuring wood and greenery, is very soothing. And oh, the small and cute pool is a nice touch!
The complimentary breakfast offers a wide variety of options, and I ended up quite full, haha.
The location is also very convenient, about a 7-minute walk from Thong Lor Station. Nearby, you'll find the famous mango sticky rice place Mae Varee (a 10-minute walk) and the pad kra pao spot Phed Mark (a 17-minute walk).

Experience the Best Views at the Infinity Pool of Marriott Hotel
Introducing the infinity pool on the 18th floor of the Marriott Hotel in Bangkok.
During my trip, the weather was always cloudy, which worried me a lot 😢. But true to its reputation as a photo hotspot, Marriott allowed me to capture stunning shots even in cloudy weather ❤️.
The infinity pool is designed at an angle at the edge, allowing you to take beautiful photos with the Bangkok cityscape as the backdrop 😍👍.
If I visit Bangkok again, I highly recommend the Marriott Hotel Surawong 👍.

Popular spot in Thong Lor
I stopped by the roast coffee and eatery a couple of times. Mostly early noons on weekdays. And trued their desserts and coffee. Something about this concrete themed design. I know a dozen cafe's and hostels in bangkok that look the exact same. Just a thought. May be concrete needs to be given a break. Speaking of the cafe, its a Lovely place especially for brunch in Bangkok.
It is pretty popular so the prices may not be all that amusing. The dishes were all around 300-400 range which is slightly pricey for Thailand standards especially if you are eating locally. But the food and drink offerings are decent. I have acid reflux issues and i cant do a lot of acidic drinks, but the ice latte here did not trouble my system. Must have been good quality arabica.

Newest bar in Bangkok with spectacular sunset and night view
Fancy nice rooftop place on the 61 floor. Food was decent, we had a volcano roll or something. Drinks was ok but pricey for Bangkok. Staff goes around with lights to help you take photos. Main issue was the music was way too loud blasting almost next to you and there's no way to reduce the volume. So you probably can't hear yourself and struggle to hear your friends. 5000 bhat minimum spend for the outdoor tables nearer to the sides to see the view. Middle tables are 4000 bhat min. There are occasional performances like Thai dancers or muay Thai boxers. Toilets are also nice, like hotel

Instagrammable Maldives-style cafe surrounded by nature!
This is a great place to go and take pictures. It tends to be pretty busy I would say get there during the day and make a reservation if you can. We don’t have to wait long at all and got a good table. We mostly had drinks and smoothies. The aesthetic is great for great picture moments.

🇹🇭 Bustling Yaowarat in Bangkok
#markets #100WaysOfTravel
This is a 100% unique experience in Bangkok, you have a crowded day market in the morning and a bustling night market from evening. This Yaowarat district never sleeps unless it is the Chinese New Year. The shopping for dried goods here can be better than Hong Kong but be careful of fake and inferior products. I love to stay within this area, my favourite is Hotel Royal Bangkok Chinatown and it is center of the night market district. It is so convenient and pocket friendly to stay for a longer trip to enjoy the street food.

🇹🇭 Famous Curry Rice in Bangkok
#markets #100WaysOfTravel
Come to Yaowarat market and save your stomach space for Khao Gaeng Jek Pui, better known as Jek Pui. They are open from 2pm onwards until sold out so you have to be early. This is the most authentic eating experience in Bangkok and there are only stools here for you to dine in. Their new location has shifted slightly away from Yaowarat market but you still can locate them easily with their red banner. You will order your food in person, remember to ask for a mixture of their curry. Then carry the plate and find a stool to sit down and holding your plate of rice and eat it.

🇹🇭 Yaowarat market for authentic breakfast
#markets #100WaysOfTravel
Come with me to Yaowarat market in the lovely Bangkok Chinatown. I will show you what is best to eat at this market which is popular in the day. You will walk through alleys and cross the streets to hunt for the best. This is a Chinese-Thailand fusion food, oyster omelette. It is similar to our Singapore style but yet different. The portion is also lesser and you might have to have a second order to taste the oyster omelette. There is another similar oyster omelette stall which sell extra crispy oyster omelette too. You can come and try for yourself and see which do you prefer.

Siam Square ICONSIAM horse killing chicken essence oil spa massage recommendation!!
If you're tired from browsing LCONIAM, you can leave this horse killing chicken massage spa! Highly recommended! The environment is really much better compared to nearby messages! Whole Body Aromatherapy essence Oil Spa-699 Taitielei for one hour, with a separate bag, and a separate shower room for bathing! The attached image is equivalent to a good amount of Chinese yuan! Personally, Wang, who thought it was cost-effective, had to queue up when he was full. At first, he didn't want to wait for others to go around the neighborhood and turn back. According to the contrast, other family environments were obviously much better than those nearby. The store was large and clean. After coming in, he had a set meal. Aromatherapy essence oil had many flavors to choose from, which would let you open it and choose what you like next time. He was later taken to the second floor by Tai Mei, who gave disposable underwear and bathing clothes between individual bags. The whole massage was very comfortable. After pressing, he would prepare a bath towel for you and shower to wash the essence oil on your body (the environment is as shown in the figure below (I went to Teyland for many experiences. Hidden gem MBK market in Bangkok
Looking for a less crowded market to visit in Bangkok? I highly recommend checking out MBK Center shopping mall’s Good Taste Market! It is located along the exterior of the mall and is easily accessible by train.
They sell a good variety of street food and drinks, as well as clothes, bags and souvenirs. A must-try dish is the seafood fried rice! But some of the items can be a bit too oily.
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let's Relax Guys 🤩Massage and Relaxing Time!!! Best❤️
#massage
Let's Relax, a massage parlor in Bangkok, Thailand, did not receive extensive reviews. In the end, come to the famous Let's Relax to experience Thai massage! It must be agreed in advance! At least one day in advance! There are not many guests who do not accept the skywalk in, and it may be due to insufficient technicians. Sha's advantages are: the environment is very good, the venue is important, it is quiet, elegant, and gentle, with good privacy. There is a separate room where you can take a shower after pressing, and the foot area is also separated by curtains. Mango glutinous rice will be provided after sterilization. Disadvantages of the letter (only available for projects over 1000): The price is relatively expensive, and the technician's technique is not particularly good (it is also possible that the technician was not very tired in the day because they didn't feel very satisfied after pressing). The technician was a bit cutting corners and gave me 10 minutes less to press. Let's Relax has many chain stores in Bangkok, just choose the one closest to you! We investigated the whole body essence oil massage+foot massage. The time is 60mins+45mins, and the price is 1300B+500B. Don't worry about the Chinese menu in the store. Enterprise store name: Let's Relax Average person count: 350RMB

What an Experience - China Town Market ❤️
#markets
The China Town Night Market is probably located on the ground rail to Wat Mangkon Station. As night falls, the lights start to light up and the sound of quiet soil begins This is another 'new' Chinatown night market. There are special delicacies hidden near a small alley, let's explore which one conflicts with each other. Answer, there is also a street view of the same style as' Finding Cases in Chinatown '. Food recommendation 1. T&K seafood 5. NaiMong Thai charcoal fire pancake making: gecko 00-21:00 2. Legendary JEKPUI Thai curry rice 3. Mr. Gao Huan's food shop; Odianshuotun noodle shop 6. Roast deep-fried dough sticks.

Srinagarin Market is a local night market in Thailand
#markets
Srinagarin Market is a local night market in Thailand that receives visitors every day of the week on Thursdays from 00:00 to 01:00 GBTS to On Nut Station. As it is not located in the market, there are relatively few tourists from other places. The overall decoration is in an industrial nostalgic style, making it a popular spot for antique collectors. Food recommendations include throwing rice and spotted mooncakes.

Craving Thai Food? Visit Napha @ Emsphere
#bangkoktrip
Staying in the Sukhumvit area comes with its advantages, particularly the abundance of both international and local dining options. Our visit to Napha, located in the newly opened Emsphere Shopping Centre, was a delightful experience. The restaurant's warm and stylish decor immediately drew us in. Napha offers a modern take on delicious and affordable Thai cuisine, showcasing dishes from all four regions of Thailand. To truly experience the best of what they offer, we recommend trying the signature dishes crafted by a renowned celebrity chef. The Pad Thai, in particular, was exceptional, featuring large, succulent shrimp that made the dish truly stand out.
Trip to Bangkok 🇹🇭
It was a short trip to Bangkok with family. Just to recommend some of the amazing places and restaurants that we loved 🥰
We visited The Grand Palace. It is a former royal residence, showcasing stunning architecture and the revered Emerald Buddha. The building was very beautiful and worth to visit.
📍Na Phra Lan Road, Phra Nakhon.
I would also recommend you to visit Wat Pho. It is famous for the Reclining Buddha statue and as a traditional massage school. We spent half day exploring around had a lot of street food nearby ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📍 2 Sanamchai Road, Phra Nakhon.
We also visited the famous Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). The Iconic riverside temple known for its towering spires. The central prang (tower) of Wat Arun is decorated with colorful porcelain and seashells, which create intricate patterns. We walked around slowly to admire the detailed craftsmanship and the beautiful spires.
📍158 Thanon Wang Doem, Wat Arun, Bangkok Yai
Last but not least, I would also recommend you to visit Jim Thompson House. A museum in a traditional Thai house dedicated to the American silk entrepreneur, Jim Thompson. The highlight of visiting Jim Thompson House is the guided tour. Knowledgeable guides took us through the six traditional Thai-style houses that make up the complex, explaining the history of the house, Jim Thompson's life, and the artifacts he collected. It is very worth to visit 🙌🙌🙌
📍6 Soi Kasemsan 2, Rama 1 Road, Pathumwan.
As for local Thai food, I would recommend you to try Jay Fai. It is Famous for its Michelin-starred street food, particularly the crab omelette 🦀
📍327 Maha Chai Road, Samran Rat, Phra Nakhon.
If you prefer a decent restaurant, you can check out the Gaggan Anand. A renowned fine dining restaurant. The food was very lovely as well as the staffs. The price was reasonable. All the dishes that we ordered were delicious ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📍68/1 Soi Langsuan, Ploenchit Road, Lumphini.
We also visited the famous restaurant, Sorn. A two-Michelin-starred restaurant offering Southern Thai cuisine. The Tomyam soup was amazing. We all enjoyed the food 🥘 so much 💯
📍56 Sukhumvit 26, Khlong Tan.

I recommend a hearty breakfast at The Park Nine Hotel.
Is there a hotel near Suvarnabhumi Airport that is affordable and has a great breakfast?
I recommend The Park Nine as a value-for-money breakfast spot in Thailand. The price is very cheap, around 100,000 KRW, and the breakfast is really good!
The yogurt is served in glass jars, and I think there's no place where you can get such a good breakfast at this price!
I recommend it to those looking for a cost-effective hotel with a good breakfast near Suvarnabhumi Airport.
