Antwerp｜Light and Shadow of a City

Antwerp is the kind of city that makes you slow down once you enter it. The train station is like a palace carved out of stone. When you walk out of the station, the air is filled with the aroma of coffee and the smell of old days. No one was in a hurry, everyone seemed to be waiting for a good show or a gust of wind. The Cathedral of Our Lady stands tall and poetic, and the Rubens paintings inside quietly burn with colors. I stood in front of the painting for a long time, not for religious reasons, but just to be quiet. When talking about Belgium, most people's first reaction is chocolate, beer or the fairy-tale style of Bruges, but Antwerp is not that kind of cute city. It is more like a quiet and tasteful designer with calm manners and accurate vision. I didn't plan to go shopping before coming here, but the clothes here are really good. Designer brands, simple tailoring, low-key texture, the prices are much more affordable than Paris or Amsterdam, and the key point is that the style is cool and clean enough. Fashion here is not about exaggeration, but an attitude. People on the street are all dressed just right, not noisy or boring. After buying clothes, I sat in a coffee shop on the corner, with the paper bag leaning against the foot of the chair, the sun shining on it. I felt that it was not a shopping trophy, but a little romance left over from the trip.
